Description:  Ashitaka is a young adult with a lean muscular build, slightly tan skin, long brown hair (reaches bottom of neck) with bangs that frame his face, and distinctive bright blue-green eyes (no Dōjutsu). He has a slim face and, like most manga characters, has a mouth that at resting is normal sized but becomes ridiculously huge when laughing or yelling. Ashitaka wears a close fitted black shirt that has straps in the back for storage of small scrolls. He has black shorts that have pouches for storage on the right thigh and left hip. His left arm is wrapped like Chunin Exam Sasuke, complete with the aesthetically pleasing yet functionally worthless black strap. His shoes are the standard issue ones that a large percentage of ninja in the Naruto Universe have in black.

Personality Information~

Personality Description:
Ashitaka is cool, calm and collected in a way that can best be described as “chill vibes only”. Having come from a small town displaced by war, he has a strong pacifist nature and strong empathy skills. However he will not shy away from violence when defending his comrades. The empathy he has for his fellow villagers also manifests itself in Ashitaka being humble and having a strong commitment to social justice issues. While his was not very intellectual for most of his childhood, his parent’s deaths and his kickstarted Shinobi education resulted in dramatic improvement in his rational abilities. In order to process the deaths of those close to him, his views of the Shinobi world have become very utilitarian (the greatest happiness of the greatest number is the measure of right and wrong) in nature. However, his philosophy is not static but changes over time in order for Ashitaka to survive the cataclysm.

History:
During the fourth great shinobi war, the Izumi family acted as ninja guards to a shipping town on an island north of the grass nation. During the war, this town was destroyed by the deflected 10 tails bomb (See Naruto: 630 #ThanksMinato). Post war the Izumi family, along with other refuges, established a small farming village named Ramree in the swamp lands of the Land of Earth. As one would expect from a farming village in the swamps, the village was deep in poverty and did not have a high quality of living conditions. Ashitaka Izumi was born in the village of Ramree. Having known nothing else becides the swamps, Ashitaka had a positive and fun childhood exploring the swamps, playing with the local salamanders, and spending time with his family. However, life in the swamp began to slowly take its tole on the villages. From living in poverty to regular interaction with venomous/poisonous animals, villagers in Ramree did not live long lives. At 14 years old Ashitaka found himself an orphan as both his mother and father died of the mysterious ninja disease (R.I.P Mom, Dad and Itachi). After his parent’s death, Ashitaka took his family’s life savings and abandoned the life of a swamp farmer, moving to Iwagakure to become a shinobi.
Being several years older and significantly lower performing, than the other academy students, Ashitaka initially struggled with learning the skills required of shinobi. However, after adapting to the fresh air of Iwagakure and improving his work ethic and study skills, Ashitaka quickly rose to the top of the academy class. Having come from a town full of war refugees, Ashitaka preferred to work at developing his genjustu techniques as they allow for nonviolent conflict resolution. His developing potential with genjutsu quickly helped Ashitaka graduate from the academy and begin his career as a Genin. With the growing tension between the five great ninja nations, Ashitaka sees this moment as his opportunity to come on the scene and reinforce peace.
